If you have been on edge, waiting for Fridays to come so you may see exactly what the hell will happen next on Season 2 of Amazon Prime Video’s superhero satire/thriller The Boys (a version of this comic of the same title by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson)…welcome into the club. Season 1 of The Boys was fantastic, and Season 2 was able to live until the first season’s hype and possibly even surpassed it. And while we’re all still considering everything that happened with Homelander, and Butcher, and Hughie, and Starlight, and Stormfront, along with The Deep, there’s a bit of very good news to rally around: The Boys got renewed for Season 3 before Season 2 even started.

The Boys Season 3 Premiere Date?

The official premiere date of The Boys’ third season isn’t something we know for certain at the moment. Regardless of what some fans might have hoped for, a 2021 release doesn’t appear quite promising, especially following the show became one of many projects whose production schedule was changed by the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020. Therefore, until we receive a verified date on that Season 3 will be accessible for Amazon Prime Video subscribers (and shameless moochers) to stream, an early 2022 release may be exactly what we can most likely anticipate, considering how late the show went back into production.

The Boys season 3 cast

We are not going to spoil the just-aired finale for you, but based on what happens, anyone currently in the cast of The Boys could be suddenly cast out with a tragic passing or a storyline that simply writes them off the show.

But we think it’s safe to assume that Urban, Moriarty, and Quaid will be back together with primary cast members such as Antony Starr as John/Homelander, Dominique McElligott as Maggie Shaw/Queen Maeve, Jessie T. Usher as Reggie Franklin/A-Train, Tomer Capon as Serge/Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko Miyashiro/The Female and more.

There’ll also be at least one new face when Season 3 of The Boys premieres: Jensen Ackles of Supernatural fame is set to appear as Soldier Boy. He has been referred to on the series previously and has been called”the original Superhero.” Fans will just have to wait and see how he is introduced and how large a role he will play in the next season of the Amazon series.

The Boys season 3 storyline

Since the second season of the Amazon Prime Video series will finish with the release of this finale event on October 9, fans can’t be sure exactly what to expect of any future seasons. It is anyone’s guess which figures will stick around, and whether Kripke and the authors behind the show will throw a curveball that could completely change the length of the show in later episodes.

The series relies on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic-book series of the same title, so fans could get hints at future plot points or personalities from there. However, the Amazon show is an adaptation that could conceivably go in almost any way.

For the most part, reviews of year 2 of The Boys have been good. There’s no reason to feel that the team behind the show will not keep bringing the series that fans love through the third season.
