On Saturday night at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). The “India in Fashion” exhibition took place which showcased many traditional Indian fashions. A number of national and international celebrities visited the exhibition and gala. It featured over 140 exquisite costumes influenced by India and told the tale of the country’s influence on world fashion. Ranveer Singh, Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Rashmika Mandanna, Alia Bhatt, and other celebrities also to part in the occasion.
The main highlight of the event was global American stars like Gigi Hadid and Zendaya wore sarees and stunned everyone. Both were the talk of the show as they rocked their ‘Desi Girl Look ‘ in Indian attires. The other Bollywood stars did steal the light as well. Especially the saree style had the main focus as the fashion icons showed their creative styling skills.
Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid gave out a high-octane glitz look in Abu Jani AKA Sandeep Khosla’s The Chikankari saree with a gold jeweled top. The six yards of pre-pleated fabric had a side slit that reached the leg and elaborately patterned gold patti borders. The white Chikankari saree went perfectly with the gold element. Finally, for the glam choices, Gigi went with elaborate gold stacked bangles and studded high heels. Her hair was in a neat sleek bun, diamond earrings, and minimal makeup.
Zendaya
At the NMACC Day, 2 Zendaya wore Rahul Mishra designs for the carpet walk. A dark blue saree with sparkling star-shaped sequin designs. It had flower applique work, hand embroidery, and a long sheer pallu. Creating a train at the end made up her outfit, which was right off the catwalk. It was completed with an untidy bun, perfect nude pink lips, and a glowing complexion. The choice of ornaments was just cheery on top, a gold bralette with embellishments, and Bulgari jewelry.
Rekha
The ever-young beauty queen of six yards Rekha still gives competition to the younger generation. Therefore, it is clear that the famous 80’s heroin had to be on the list. To the NMACC Day 2 Gala, Rekha donned a Kanjeevaram silk saree in shades of mint green and teal. She topped off the lovely six yards with a full-sleeved blouse that was decorated with flowery brocade designs. Which matched the saree perfectly making it outstanding. She accessorized it with a choke necklace, some huge bangles, a matha patti, long earrings, and two big diamond rings. The final touches included her signature red lips, kohl-lined eyes, rouged cheeks, a center-parted gajra bun with a dewy complexion, and a decorative potli purse.
In a bespoke sari by Vaishali S with a pre-draped shape and structured pleated design, Alia Bhatt looked beautiful. She added a top with lots of embroidery to the ensemble. She accessorized it with a dazzling choker necklace with shiny diamond-studded bracelet and statement rings. With a haath bandh with floral embroidery as her accouterments. She wore minimum makeup and styled her hair in a bun with a middle part. Among the crowds, her outfit stuck out.
Sharvari Wagh
Sharvari Wagh also selected a unique look designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Her white sari had pearls embellished with ruffles and a floor-grazing fringe. In order to make a statement, she paired the six yards with a bustier sweetheart neckline blouse that had pearl embellishments, with a structured pattern on one shoulder. The final touches included loose hairstyles that were neatly tucked behind ears. Some subtle jewelry, and minimal attractive glam makeup look.
Sonam Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor wore a georgette saree underneath a silk dupion blazer that was specially made for her and accessorized with a jeweled kamar bandh. When it comes to fashion Sonam knows how to play her cards. She chose striking earrings and a pendant for her accouterments and her hair was in a neat sleek bun. She kept her makeup elegant with a classic bold red lip, some glittery eyeshadow with winged eyeliner, and blush.
Disha Patani gave the NMACC audience a taste of a modern Desi girl look. In a sequined silver saree draped in a stunning way to expose her strapless bralette top with a sweetheart neckline and a cropped hem. She accessorized the saree with dangling earrings and a few rings keeping it simple and sexy. Her makeup was neutral glam with a lip color that was pinkish nude and winged eyeliner. She left her hair loose with wavy curls. Disha’s glowing highlighter was on point, and for shoes, it was a stiletto.
Shraddha Kapoor
Shraddha Kapoor opted for a striking black saree with a pre-draped silhouette. Paring a corset top with a Kalamkari pattern, and a corresponding floor-length pallu on her back. She wore a Kundan choker necklace with earrings and big bangles. Her hair was a braided middle portion with some curtain bangs. She went for a dewy look with smoky eyes, bare lips, flushed cheekbones, feathered brows, and a black bindi.
Suhana Khan
Suhana Khan showed up at the NMACC Gala wearing a sequined net sari in gold and black with a corresponding strapless bralette. Her saree is an ideal bridal outfit for the wedding occasion. As always she kept her look very simple but stunning. Some dangling earrings, bare lips, winged eyeliner, a dewy foundation, mascara-draped lashes, and flushed cheekbones with open center-parted hair.
