MONEY HEIST season 5 was confirmed by the series’s creator. However, when will La Casa de Papel return to Netflix?
Money Heist season five is going to be the final outing of this favorite Spanish crime thriller show on Netflix. The show is expected to pick up where it left off as the gang tries to make their escape out of the Bank of Spain. Here are all fans need to understand about what will happen next, who’s back in the cast, and when it will be released.
When will season 5 of Money Heist release on Netflix?
Our very best guess is that it will not be made accessible on Netflix until at least summer 2021. There have been some rumors floating about potential release dates. The most unplausible appears to be January 2021 but some more rumors have been floated for April 2021 which appears more realistic.
There also have been rumors floated the series will go back for 2 halves again using the very first in August 2021 and another in 2022. We have not been able to substantiate these rumors.

All we know is that the series was recently confirmed to become a part of Netflix’s wide 2021 lineup.
What will the fifth season of Money Heist be about?
Due to the character of the show’s production, audiences have seen two distinct heists, each spanning across two seasons for a total of four parts. While the very first heist less or more went to strategy, the same can’t be stated for how we left things inside the Bank of Spain at the end of season 4.
Nairobi’s (Alba Flores) execution proved to be a major riff from the final episodes, shattering the heart group and also exacerbating the chaos within the bank further. Subsequently came the extraction of Raquel from the government which saw her radically re-enter the bank, while the Professor was simultaneously detected by Nazi police officer Alicia Sierra.
It is not inconceivable to think that, given we have observed two heists for each set of seasons, the forthcoming Money Heist season 5 and possible season 6 will share the identical format, possibly focusing on a new heist collectively together, possibly even internationally. But that can’t be started until the loose ends of season 4 are tied up first. The show also loves to dabble in a non-linear way of story-telling, so we could see Nairobi reunite (similar to Berlin’s character did in the subsequent seasons) after all.
Viewers also likely did not observe the sudden easter egg awaiting them only seconds after the credits rolled on season 4 — an exceptional rendition of Bella Ciao’ by Money Heist actress herself, Najwa Nimri (who plays the aforementioned police officer that outed the Professor in the last scene). Given that it had been formerly only sung on-screen by people loyal to the origin, would this be an indication the Sierra will be joining the Professor and his gang for season 5? Only time will tell, but if so, that’d shake up the dynamics of the following season.
Showrunner Alex Piña also floated the idea of spinoffs using Oprah Magazine, which would be a possible outcome if season 5 of Money Heist was to purely wrap up the narrative in one succinct and striking send-off instead of embarking on a new adventure.
“We have many chances for some spinoffs, yes, and I think that’s thanks to its robust and strong identities of these characters. We have always looked for characters to have a very complicated, layered design. I think almost every character of Money Heist includes a duality that we would like to see in a spinoff. We could observe any of these in other contexts.”
