Young Justice will return again! In addition to renewing Doom Patrol to get a third season, Warner Bros. also declared a brand new season of Young Justice titled Young Justice: Phantoms. The announcement came through DC FanDome during a Young Justice panel hosted by GameSpot’s Chris E. Hayner. The producers of this show say that work is already underway and revealed the emblem for the new season, which you can view below. The panel didn’t reveal whether Young Justice: Phantoms is going to be a DC Universe exclusive, such as the previous season of this series, titled Young Justice: Outsiders, or whether it will make the jump to HBO max like Doom Patrol did.
The Panel didn’t show any concrete details about Young Justice: Phantom’s plot. The show’s voice cast did perform an original script that’s placed between the events of Outsiders and Phantoms. From the script, Superboy (Nolan North) and Miss Martian (Danica McKellar) depart the Team behind to embark on a journey all their own. Meanwhile, Artemis (Stephanie Lemelin) invites Arsenal to rejoin the group. Arsenal accepts.
Fans Of Young Justice may recall that the group is currently fractured. Beast Boy chose to split away from the group. A number of the Team’s youthful members joined him in former a new group known as the Outsiders.
Per the synopsis for the previous season, “The teenage Super Heroes of the DC Universe come of age in an animated world of super-powers, Super-Villains and super secrets in Young Justice: Outsiders, the highly expected new take on Warner Bros… Cartoon’s favourite Young Justice series. The team faces its greatest challenge yet because it takes on meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it generates to get a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.”
Young Justice became A cult sense after two seasons on Cartoon Network. It had been cancelled unceremoniously and leaving many dangling plot threads open. Year after, Warner Bros. chose the series up again and used it to draw audiences into its untoward DC Universe streaming platform.
Are you enthusiastic about the return of Young Justice? Can you expect to see it back on DC Universe, or do you foresee it making the leap to HBO Max?
