Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Monday ordered a complete ban on the sale of liquor and meat in the holy city of Mathura. The authorities are further instructed to make a comprehensive plan for the implementation of the order. The officials are directed to engage with people who are involved in the business and take them on board while implementing the order.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was attending a Krishnotsav program in the state capital where he suggested that those people who are involved in the liquor and meat business may take up selling milk in order to revive the historical significance and glory of the ancient city of Mathura. Yogi also prayed to Lord Krishna to eliminate the deadly Coronavirus.

The Chief Minister speaking at the program on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami also said, “We will ensure that every effort is made to revamp the Brij Bhumi and that there won’t be any shortage of funds.  We are focused on developing the region through a blend of updated modern technologies and cultural & spiritual heritage.” He further added that all our places of faith that were neglected for a long time are being revived now.

The event was also attended by cabinet ministers Laxmi Narain Chaudhary and Shrikant Sharma. Taking the opportunity of the occasion, Yogi also lashed out at the opposition leaders without particularly naming anyone. He said “Those leaders who were earlier hesitant and afraid to go to temples for the fear of being called communal are now saying Lord Ram is mine, Krishna is also mine. It was a norm to impose restrictions on Hindu festivals during the time of their government but now there are no such restrictions.”

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM further added that it is because of him that the country has got an all-new direction and the nation is moving forward.
