Wonder Woman 1984 , the sequel to the superheroine played by Gal Gadot , hides different ‘easterg-eggs’. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, as references and winks are a tradition in superhero movies. We have already told you about the title of the book that appears in the film and that connects with its leading actress and, now, we want to focus on another ‘easter-egg’. The reference we want to reveal to you is a nod to another superhero from the DC film universe : Black Adam .

Dwayne Johnson is the one chosen to get into the skin of this character, who will star in his own solo movie. Black Adam will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and stars Noah Centineo as Albert Rothstein / Atom Smasher , Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall / Hawkman and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone . The film has no release date yet, but Wonder Woman 1984 has already winked at this character.

The moment in question occurs when the sequel travels to Cairo (Egypt). Maxwell Lord ( Pedro Pascal ) moves there to meet Emir Said Bin Abydos ( Amr Waked ), an oil magnate with a fortune that the villain envies. At this point in the film, Maxwell Lord has already become the stone of wishes, so he offers the emir to grant him any request he has. The latter asks to recover the ancestral kingdom of the Bialya dynasty .

In DC comics, as CBR points out , Bialya is not a dynasty, but a military-controlled Middle Eastern country . This is where an enraged Black Adam ended the lives of thousands of inhabitants. The character’s anger was unleashed by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who used Bialya as a base to launch an attack against the nation of Kahndaq , place under the protection of Black Adam, his wife Isis and his brother-in-law Osiris . After the latter two died, Black Adam stormed Bialya for revenge.
