The Walking Dead season 11 premieres this summer, as was shown via a brief clip. The long-running AMC drama has become a phenomenon through its many years on the air. It’s undergone several significant cast departures and shakeups but has stayed a constant performer. The show has also inspired spinoffs, such as Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Another follow show up, focusing on the personalities of Carol and Daryl, can also be in the works, in addition to movies based around Rick Grimes. All told, The Walking Dead will continue to stay on following its series finale.
The original show is now broadcasting an enlarged season 10, which has been postponed on account of the coronavirus pandemic. The season was initially supposed to conclude nearly a year ago, in April 2020. But, post-production was not able to be completed on the last episode punctually. Because of this, the initial finale aired as a standalone episode in October. The series has returned for six”bonus” episodes, with the first airing this week.
Throughout The Walking Dead’s very first installment back, “Home Sweet Home,” AMC aired a promo video showing season 11 will premiere this summer. Check out the teaser under:

Though The Walking Dead period 11 began filming earlier this month, it was uncertain until now when the forthcoming episodes would air. Previously, only the year 2021 was granted. Considering season 10 is currently expected to finish in early April, a summertime return is earlier than many viewers expected. Granted, with no concrete premiere date, that is a fairly big window, but it means the show could potentially return as soon as June. That would be a major threat for crowds going into season 11, particularly after season 10’s original ending was postponed for so long. Of course, once season 11 premieres, it’ll be the beginning of the end for the series, a bittersweet sentiment for longtime viewers.
Beyond just the premiere date reveal, the movie itself is also fascinating. Though fairly short, the guarantee of”A New World Order” teases what audiences can expect in The Walking Dead season 11. Considering the numerous challenges that the characters have faced over time, it’s not surprising more are in store for its last season. It remains to be seen how everyone’s story arcs will come to an end. Hopefully, The Walking Dead’s final episodes serve as a satisfying conclusion for the beloved series, while also increasing enthusiasm for the still-to-come follow-up projects.
