The demise of Deadspin, the Twitter website I established in 2005. The one I’ll always be most intimately linked with, and the one that consumed alive from the inside out. By a vulture private equity group, one of the saddest things that ever occurred to me in my professional life. Since individuals often announce their intentions to leave Twitter, generally on Twitter, I typically don’t believe them.
My fingers and my brain continued to input “deadspin.com” . Into my browser for the first week or two after the vultures destroyed Deadspin due to muscle memory. Every time I typed it in, its a bit scary to see what had happened to it; its like drinking milk before you realized it had gone bad. But gradually, I stopped. You eventually become unable to bear to look at it. You eventually move on. I haven’t accessed Deadspin.com in a long time. It has made me happy.

Since Elon Musk assumed control of the website on Friday. Many users have said they would stop using it. This is understandable given their assumptions that it will devolve into a tangle of misinformation, hate speech, and Trump Tweets that have returned to the service.

This false; it completely concocted by individuals who are pretty similar to the attacker on the website. In a robust news environment, well even on Reddit it would not get the least amount of traction. Of course, it spreads on Twitter. It should shared by actors acting in bad faith is one thing.
