Tragedy Strikes Bihar: North East Express Derailed, Claims Lives

In a heart-wrenching incident, the Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express, with train number 12506, derailed near Bihar’s Buxar district, leaving six souls lost and nearly a hundred individuals injured. This tragic event has spurred a rapid, coordinated emergency response from various authorities.

Around 9:35 pm, tragedy struck near Raghunathpur station, Danapur division, close to Buxar. While initial reports from Indian Railways confirm six casualties, the gravity of the situation is underscored by over a dozen derailed coaches. Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar confirmed the tragic loss of lives, and hospitals in Ara, Buxar, and Patna, including esteemed institutions like PMCH, AIIMS, and IGIMS, are on high alert to offer care to the wounded.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has mobilized a comprehensive rescue operation, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of NDRF, SDRF, district administration, railway officials, and local residents.
