It’s no secret to any JRR Tolkiens fan that Amazon Prime is currently developing a series from the world of the famous fantasy saga. A pharaonic project which is currently filming in New Zealand and which should bring together a whole new cast. On that note, actor Viggo Mortensen aka Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings revealed what Game of Thrones mistake he didn’t want to see on the show. This is for an interview given to NME that the latter confided his hopes as well as his fears on the future show. But that’s not all! The latter also remembered a scene from Aragorn and Arwen that was cut in the edit and was then never part of the extended versions of Lord of the Rings.

“There was a scene we shot as a kind of flashback, a memory. It was about courtship, we shot it just before we took a break from filming so I was clean-shaven and pretty. . They had tried to make me look as young as possible. I had different hair and I was dressed like an elf. It was a scene from the book where they [Aragorn and Arwen] are walking through a flowering meadow. . It was a great sequence but it wasn’t necessary for the movie. I never saw it but I liked shooting that scene. It would be nice to see it because it’s not no more in extended editions”. An observation that the actor regrets! The latter would indeed have preferred to further explore the romantic dynamic and this aspect of the narrative arc of the descendant of the kings of NĂºmenor, in opposition to the many fight scenes. Also, discover this theory which resolves the greatest mystery of the Lord of the Rings saga.
