The Big Show by Glen Maxwell

         

The 13th edition of Cricket world cup has been an absolute package of joy and excitement. Talking about all the matches that has happened spectators were surprised seeing the results of some matches. Coming to individual performances Glen Maxwell holds the world record of making the fastest century and at a point of time it seemed like a T20 match is going on. Australia won the toss against Netherlands and decided to bat. David Warner gave Australia the start they needed which was then followed by “The Big Show”. Australia made a total of 399/8 which consisted of record -breaking individual innings.

Cricket Career of Glen Maxwell

Glen Maxwell began his professional cricket career from Victoria and Melbourne stars in Australian domestic cricket. Presently he represents Australian national cricket team in One day International, T20 International. He also plays test cricket for Australia. Glen was a part of the 2015 world cup winning team. He scored the winning boundary which led Australia win the ICC T20 World Cup. Glen Maxwell is the second Australian after Shane Watson to score maiden centuries in all three formats of the game. He plays for Royal Challenger’s Bangalore in Indian Premier League and has made a total of 2719 runs in 124 matches with an average of 26.40.”

An innings to remember

This year’s world cup has witnessed several high scoring matches where many players scored centuries. South Africa scored a total of 400 runs in their first match. The match between Australia and Netherlands was in top trend. Netherlands defeated in form South Africa by 38 runs by their tight bowling. David Warner gave Australia the start they were looking for. Warner made 104 runs off 115 balls and made several partnerships with Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith.

Glen Maxwell showed the world what he is capable of after he came to bat in the 40th over. He made the fastest century so far in this year’s world cup. And  scored his first 50 off 27 balls and just took 13 balls to make another 50 which resulted in the fastest scoring century by any batsmen coming in the later part of the game. “The Big Show” broke the record of Aiden Markram who made 110 off 54 balls.

It was a pure banger by Glen Maxwell which made him the top trend today. The innings took everyone by surprise. Australia made a all total of 399/8 where Maxwell scored 106 in just 40 balls. The five times world cup winners defeated the Dutch by 309 runs which also broke several records. “The Big Show” made the show real big for Australia.
