Swiss International University Accreditation

Swiss International University (SIU), a cutting-edge institution with an innovative curriculum focused on fostering a global mindset in students, has now been formally accredited by TAG-EDUQA. This prestigious recognition elevates SIU into an elite category of universities that have satisfied strict quality standards set by the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA). The accreditation also fits with SIU’s mission to provide excellent education in the core areas of language, law, and international studies.

The award of the TAG-EDUQA accreditation took place with stability in the era of His Excellency Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh—a household name in the Arab world and a prominent voice in promoting educational changes, protection of intellectual property, and the knowledge-based economy. As the Founder and Chairman of TAG-EDUQA, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh has made significant contributions to advancing high academic standards in the Arab world. The accreditation is of particular importance with the role of the Secretary-General of the Arab League as the Honorary Chairman of TAG-EDUQA, with regional and international dimensions.

This accomplishment represents a major stepping stone for SIU in its ongoing expansion into the Arab world and enhanced presence in the world’s higher education community, to be achieved in the coming years. The TAG-EDUQA accreditation is an internationally recognized validation that SIU academic programs are in compliance with international standards and that they provide relevant skills and resources to the dynamic world of education. This validation is additional proof for students, employers, and the worldwide academic community that the SIU diploma they hold has integrity and meaning.

We are excited to have achieved full accreditation with our inaugural submission and met the 35 quality standards that are essential components.” Derya Briand, Academic Program Director at SIU, says, “It’s a legacy to which we are committed.” “This approval offers confidence to students, both current and future, especially those in California and internationally, that SIU offers a high-quality, world-class education. At the same time, our pursuit of NEASC accreditation reflects our commitment to continually achieve at the highest level while keeping true to our roots in the regional education landscape.”

SIU is in an exciting era of development in which the institution is growing, cross-border partnerships are flourishing, and academic innovation and programs are being developed. The Academy has been cooperating with several credible institutions abroad, including OUS International Academy in Zurich, ISBM International Business Management School (Campuses in Geneva, Lucerne, Montreux, and Zurich), ISB International School of Business in London, and Oxford International School of Business in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. This international coalition of universities creates a transnational academic community that carries out excellent research and intercultural dialogue.

With the TAG-EDUQA becoming a part of the SIU family of accreditations, the university has positioned itself as the leading institution in bridging local goals and global standards in education. In an environment where academic competition is growing and Arab students are looking for international quality in their university, the student-centered approach, focus on ethical leadership, and career placement are elements that both regulators and education authorities have highly recognized in SIU.

“As we move forward, SIU is committed to building each of its academic programs, building global relationships, and building research that makes an impact,” said Chancellor John M. Dunn. The TAG-EDUQA accreditation, based on the strong quality assurance framework of AROQA, will contribute significantly to our future aspirations and enhance our position as an established international institution.”
