Succession season two ended in a major cliffhanger, leaving audiences desperate to find out the fallout of Kendall Roy’s betrayal against his father, Logan. When Will Succession Season Three Be Released?
After pre-production was shut down due to the pandemic in early 2020, and it has just been confirmed that season three has begun filming – meaning we might have a while to wait. But, HBO’s most up-to-date trailer has confirmed that the show will surely be back by 2021!
Talking to Deadline about as soon as the new series could be published, HBO boss Casey Bloys said that in an”ordinary world” the series would be out by the end of 2021, adding: “However, that might mean we do not get hit with any Covid delays. It is difficult to predict right now”. Finger’s crossed!
What Will Succession Season Three Be About?
Although we’ve had very little information in terms of the plot, Mathew MacFayden opened up about closing moments of year two, where Kendall betrays his father by refusing to take the fall for the Prize Ship scandal and accuses Logan of having knowledge of the cover-ups. While on Rob Brydon’s YouTube show, he explained: “I understand a little bit [about season three]. I can not divulge obviously but it’s quite exciting.

“It is actually in a really mouthwatering place as it’s so beautifully set up with all the spin in the end. But it appears like cousin Greg has gone to the Dark Side. to team Kendall.”
Brian Cox, who plays Logan, opened about season three to The Hollywood Reporter, saying: “We never knew in the episode to episode exactly what was going to take place. But then [creator Jesse Armstrong explained to me. And it is joyous thrilling. That is all I could say.
Speaking about Logan, he added: “I think he has also currently got whole new respect for Roman because he believes that Roman has come naturally. Roman’s defense of Gerri, that is very admirable, but his recognizing the fallacy of the whole Middle Eastern trip.”
Who Will Be In Succession Season Three’s Cast?
While season three will see the recurrence of stars such as Brian Cox as part of the Roy family, Kieran Culkin as Roman, Jeremy Powerful as Kendall, Sarah Snook as Shiv, Matthew Macfayden as Tom Wambsgans, and Greg Hirsch as cousin Greg, it will also welcome a host of new characters.
Back in January, Variety reported that the names linking the all-star cast comprised Love & Basketball actress Sanaa Lathan, Broadway star Linda Emond and K-Pop singer and Deadly Engines actress Jihae.
Saana will take on the role of Lisa Arthur, who is described as a”high-profile, well-connected New York attorney”, while Linda is in place to perform Michelle-Anne Vanderhoven, a senior White House aide. Meanwhile, the Jihae will probably be taking on the part of Berry Schneider, a leading public relations adviser.
