Roger Federer Will Be Undergoing His 3rd Knee Surgery Later This Month

Roger Federer news is followed all across the globe because no matter where is plays, he enjoys maximum support. Since his 2 knee surgeries in 2020, he has been out of action for the most part till now. He didn’t enjoy a great comeback as he suffered some 1st round losses and even after a good run at the French Open, he had to leave the tournament mid-way as he couldn’t cope with the pressure any further. He exceeded everybody’s expectations at Wimbledon 2021 as he reached quarters.

He lost in the quarters and that is where he picked up another injury on his knees. He has been out of action since then and people started speculating, will he be fit enough to play the US Open. On Sunday, he gave an update to his fans, that he still wishes to continue going on tours, and for that, he will have to do one more surgery. This will keep him out of action for at least 6 months and at his age, it’s virtually impossible to make a comeback in tennis. He still seems confident and has asked his fans to keep faith and patience as they will see their hero on tours again.

Roger Federer was the first man to reach 20 Grand Slam title wins. The GOAT debate may have taken Djokovic further but in terms of popularity, Federer is unmatched. Not even Rafael Nadal enjoys the kind of fan-following that Roger enjoys. He is out of the top 10 and it is fairly difficult for him to break Jimmy Conor’s record of 109 titles which he has been chasing for a while now, He is stranded at 103, and 6 more titles from here on is next to impossible.

However, Federer is a magician and everyone wants to see a full-fit Roger back on the court. Roger himself has kept the standards high as he plays only the marque events and with the presence of Rafael Nadal, and Djokovic, it has become tough for him to overcome them. The next-gen players too are doing well as Medvedev, Zverev, and Tstsipass have beaten the big 3 in the last year or so quite a few times and it looks like a matter of time before they will take over.

Roger Federer fans are waiting for the next update from their hero as one thing is clear that he will be missing next year’s Australian Open for sure as 6-7 months is the minimum time that he will need for completing rehab. Many people have also started speculating, that he might be seen playing doubles or mixed doubles along with Belinda Benic. Hopman Cup is back in 2021 and as a fan, all are hoping that he becomes fully fit for the event. Without him, the Laver Cup too will have an impact as he was the main reason for pulling the crowds in numbers during the Laver Cup matches. We wish Roger Federer a speedy recovery and hope is back on the court soon.
