Comedian Raju Shrivastav suffered a major cardiac arrest on August 10th. He was working out on his treadmill at the time of the incident and then complained of chest pain, soon after which his body collapsed. He was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Science, Delhi right after the incident by a trainer.

According to the sources, he was resuscitated twice and was rushed to catheterization lab for emergency angiography. He underwent an angioplasty and is responding to the treatment. Few of the top cardiologists are treating Mr. Shrivastav and he is under strict observation.

Dr. Balbir Singh, Chairman of Cardiac Sciences at Max Healthcare told NDTV about how these days the culture of aggressive workout is setting in, compromising the health aspect. Trainers shouldn’t push on upscaling workouts beyond a limit, else it can trigger death, he added.

Dr. Raju Vyas, Director of Cardiac Sciences at Fortis hospital recommended, that people should get a medical certificate before starting any workout.

Sunil Pal conveyed over his Instagram that Mr. Shrivastav doing better now and is out of danger. But he has still been unconscious post his attack. His condition has neither improved nor worsened. Doctors have said he is still at a critical stage and has suffered brain damage since after, due to which he is now put on a ventilator. Doctors have put two stents in his heart. He is stable now and under examination, while several other tests are being run simultaneously. His daughter Antara Shrivasatv and his friend released his health update on Instagram and appealed to the fans to pray for the betterment of her father’s health.

Mr. Shrivasta is one of the most renowned names in the industry and has spread smiles for a lot of Indians over the years. He has been active in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s and received recognition in the first season of the stand-up comedy show, “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”. He has played stage shows in India as well as outside the country. He also played a role in famous Hindi films like “Maine Pyar Kiya”, “Baazigar”, “Bombay to Goa”, and more such films.
