Regrettably, despite the third season arriving on Netflix at the end of March and new seasons of Netflix shows generally arriving annually apart, Ozark season 4 is not coming to Netflix this spring.
If we’re lucky, we will get to see Ozark season 4 on Netflix this year, but there’s a lot of interesting rumors, reports, and rumblings online concerning the new season of Ozark. We wanted to share the most up-to-date information concerning the release date with fans.
Ozark year 4 will be the last period of the Netflix series, sadly, even though it’ll be split into two parts. Each part will include seven episodes, bringing the season total to 14 episodes. That will make it the biggest season of this show so far.

Was Ozark Canceled?

Here Is What Deadline reported Felix Solis explained during a New Ozark panel to the SAG awards:
“All good things must come to a conclusion. This was a good job that must come to an end,” said Solis, who seems as Omar Navarro. “We do not wish to wait until it is bad for its end.”
So, no, Ozark wasn’t really canceled. It is just coming to a conclusion, and I think that makes all of the difference.
Ozark Season 4 Release Date
For a long time, we have been assuming the Ozark season 4 release date on Netflix would be in the autumn of 2021. Generation on the final season began in November 2020. It sounds like production has been happening ever since then. If you follow along with Twitter, you are able to see where enthusiasts are sharing the place of filming down in Georgia.
In an ideal world, we’d see the first half of Ozark season 4 on Netflix later this year, followed by the next half sometime in the spring of 2022. Is that going to take place? To be determined!
Netflix shared a list of titles coming later this season with shareholders, and unfortunately, Ozark season 4 was not on this list. That might be cause for concern, but I think Netflix could have withheld Ozark only because the series is still filming. As it is such a large production, Netflix wouldn’t want to declare it’s coming later this season when it is going to come down to a matter of weeks if that is possible.
Whether there are any flaws because of the pandemic or others, we might not see new episodes until 2022.
That said, it seems like everyone is optimistic that the first half of this season will be published this year. During a February screening and screening with Deadline, Chris Mundy, the showrunner, and Bateman commented about the launch date.

“This sort of the race, the whole world is in between vaccinations and these variants. I mean, essentially, it’s likely for us a whole lot faster now that Joe Biden’s got his hands on the wheel. It might have would have taken longer with the previous government, so that I believe we are gonna receive it to TV earlier thanks to Uncle Joe.”
As far as we all know, filming has continued in Georgia. There’s not been any news about any production stoppages, so that is a fantastic sign.
We all know, because of other Netflix productions in Georgia like Stranger Things, items are taking longer than usual. Assuming season 4 filming is going smoothly, there is definitely enough time this season to get the first half of season 4 out.
Regrettably, even if part 1 is released in 2021, we likely won’t see part 2 until 2022.
In summary, we are still expecting Ozark season 4 to be released on Netflix in late 2021, likely October, November, or December. The final episodes, however, will arrive in 2022.
