The new upcoming series adding to the list horror thriller is the Midnight Mass. The subject of religion and fear are always knotted around each other since certain religious power always has the zeal to sway away fears. Talking for instance people perform good deeps as they believe in after death and fancy to be sacred to the divine judgment. This convergence between fear and religion is the soul of this new series.

It comprises seven episodes full of creepy stuff but isn’t a part of an anthology. Being a Mike Flanagan show who is best known for his The Haunting of Hill House and its sequel The Haunting of Bly Manor.

The basic plot of the story premise runs as following.

Midnight Mass is the tale of an isolated and tiny island community. At the beginning of the series, the audiences are expected to experience the central location of the show that is the island town Crockket Island. It is an island with unexplained strange vibes. The island is subsequently amplified by the arrival of a disgraced man and a charismatic priest.

The community residing on the island faces some mystical supernatural event that shunned the entire town. After Father Paul’s return to the Crockett island comes along with unexplained miraculous absurd events a new religious zeal runs over the community, does these miracles brings up a price to pay?? This the audience has to find it out watching it.

Development

Initially, it was confirmed on July 1 of 2019 by the Netflix official. The seven-episode horror thrill Tv series is produced directed and written by Mike Flanagan. The lead roles of the story were revealed in February 2020 viz Zach Gilford, Kate Siegel, and Hamish Linklater.

According to the initial schedule, the production was about to start from early March 2020. As the COVID – 19 strikes it dates were delayed. Finally, it entered the production house in August 2020 in Vancouver Canada, and the news was rumored that it finished off on December 15, 2020. The director Flanagan mentions that the Midnight Mass is his Favourite project so far. Despite the show don’t have much publicity among the audiences; Mike is quite sure with the fact the viewer will defiantly feel the connection with the characters of the series.

While publicity for “Midnight Mass” has been fairly minimal up to this point, director Mike Flanagan has been barely able to contain his excitement for the project. In a letter released along with the trailer, Flanagan revealed that “Midnight Mass” stands as his “favorite project” that he’s worked on to date.

For fans with a fondness for the horror genre won’t have to wait for long since this thriller is scheduled to be streaming this Autumn on the 24th of September. The horror fans can defiantly binge sneak peak on the streaming trailer on the deck of Netflix.
