Anthony Mackie who is Sam Wilson / Falcon at Marvel Studios reveals that they had several actors prepared to play the old Captain America in place of Chris Evans.
In the 2019 Marvel Studios film Avengers: Endgame, when the heroes manage to defeat Thanos there is still one more task. Since they have to return the Infinity Stones to their timeline. So Captain America (Chris Evans) takes care of that mission and also decides to stay with his beloved Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in the past. For that reason we can see him again in the present, he is old and happy for having lived a full life with the woman he loved. At that time he gave his shield and legacy to his friend Sam Wilson. So will begin the series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier of Disney +.
Anthony Mackie revealed that Marvel Studios originally wanted an older actor to play Steve Rogers / Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
“Well, it’s funny, they actually wanted to cast an old man to play Chris Evans,” he said. “So they brought in like three actors. But none of them ended up being liked enough. ”

“This is not what Chris Evans will look like when he grows up. He will age like George Clooney is, “added Mackie. “He will be 95 years old and he will still be handsome, you know? So from Marvel Studios they brought a makeup, prosthetics and makeup kit and turned him into an old man. ”
He also commented that the result was very good thanks to Chris Evans being a great actor. “And what a good actor Chris is, it really worked,” he said. “He did it with his voice and everything. He did a great job. ”
Now Falcon must fight to be the new Captain America.
Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson / Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up on a global Marvel Studios adventure that tests their skills – and patience – in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier from Disney +. At first they will not allow Falcon to be the new Captain America even though he was chosen by Steve Rogers. So John Walker (Wyatt Russell) will be the new hero, but his behavior will not be the best, he will also be part of a great conspiracy even if he does not even know it.
Directed by Kari Skogland, Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly, and Daniel Brühl. The series will debut on Disney + on March 19.
