Kunal Shah is an Indian entrepreneur and venture capitalist. Born on 20 May 1983 in Mumbai, Kunal Shah’s age is 38 years old. He has studied at Wilson College Mumbai. Later, he joined Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS Mumbai) for an MBA. However, soon, he dropped out of college to pursue his interest in entrepreneurship. Kunal comes from a humble background and he started working at an early age due to financial hardships at home.
Kunal Shah is one of the most successful and innovative entrepreneurs in India. He is the Founder and CEO of Cred. This company is an innovative solution provider for credit card users. Earlier, he had launched ventures such as PaisaBack and Freecharge. However, the former provides a cashback and promotional discount campaign platform for retailers.
The latter company is a financial company that allows users to pay bills for gas, electricity, DTH, etc. It also provides the facility to invest in mutual funds and get credit through Freecharge EMI. Freecharge was Kunal Shah’s biggest success. However, he later sold the company successfully to Snapdeal in a deal of $400 million. Subsequently, in 2017, Axis Bank acquired Freecharge for USD60 million. From the revenue generated, Kunal invested in 80 startups including Unacademy, Razorback, and Pianata. In the year 2018, he introduced the company Cred.
