The collaboration between Kanye West and Gap didn’t stand the test of time and has led to a legal battle. The dispute has escalated, resulting in a lawsuit for $2 million.
As per recently obtained legal documents by the insiders. Gap is requesting for Kanye West to be responsible for covering any expenses. That may arise from a lawsuit that they are currently facing. Gap believes that Kanye and his company are at fault for placing them in this predicament.
The ongoing legal dispute between Art City Center and Gap revolves around allegations that the latter illegally occupied a building situated in downtown Los Angeles, which was intended to serve as a storefront for Kanye West’s Yeezy clothing line. Art City Center has filed a lawsuit against Gap in light of these accusations.

Art City Center reports that Gap made several unauthorized modifications to their building in 2021 and 2022 while promoting their collaboration with Yeezy. Consequently, the company is pursuing legal action against Gap to cover the expenses incurred in repairing the damages. Gap is apparently seeking to transfer the financial responsibility for the restorative expenses to Kanye.
The lawsuit filed by Gap contends that their agreement with Kanye included a clause that absolved them from any responsibility for legal claims similar to the current one.
Gap is pursuing legal action against Kanye West for a sum exceeding $2 million. Including damages incurred by the forthcoming Yeezy store as well as compensation for the company’s legal representation.
In September, Kanye announced that he was ending his partnership with Gap, citing the company’s failure to fulfill their promises as a violation of trust.
