Biopic of veteran politician and actress Jayalalitha Thalaivi will be hitting theaters on 10th September 2021. Kangana Ranaut confirmed the same on her Instagram handle. The movie shooting was completed way back and was postponed due to the pandemic. The movie will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu and is the first trilingual film of actress Kangana Ranaut.
The Thalaivi was the most sought-after one as Jayalalitha was a prominent personality and her popularity in the country is immense. She served as the CM of Tamil Nadu for 2 terms and her life was full of controversies. She was associated with MGR and it was he who introduced her to politics. In a career that spanned for nearly 2 decades, she worked in many Tamil movies and also did one Bollywood film alongside Dharmendra. She was also a cricket buff and has told in her interview that she was a huge fan of ace Indian cricketer Naari Contractor. It would be interesting to see what parts of her life are depicted in the film.
The Thalaivi script is written by KV Vijayendra Prasad who also wrote the script for Baahubali. It is directed by Vijay who is one of the most notable directors of Tamil films. Kangana was last seen in Panga which didn’t do well at the box office. Thalaivi is one of the most awaited films and the makers postponed the film as they were waiting for the theaters to re-open. After Thailavi, Kangana will be seen in Dhaakad as agent Agni.
The Thalaivi shooting of the film is completed and will release at the end of this year. Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting for the Tejas and has also turned producer for the upcoming web series Tiku Weds Sheru. Expectations from the film Thailavi are quite high as the film is a biopic on Jayalalitha. There were many controversies that surrounded her life as she has been accused of corruption and was also sent to jail.
