Jolly Grant Airport: Situated in Dehradun, one can reach Kedarnath by booking a direct flight to Jolly Grant Airport which is about 239 km from Kedarnath and operates daily flights to Delhi. Taxis are available from Dehradun airport to Kedarnath. Bus services are also available from Dehradun To Kedarnath. The nearest international airport is Delhi.
The nearest railway station near Kedarnath is Rishikesh which is about 243 kms away. Pre-paid taxi services are available at the railway station which charge about Rs 3,000. One has to travel 207 km by road and the rest 14 km on foot to reach Kedarnath.
Gaurikund is well connected by roads. Visitors can board regular buses from Rishikesh and Kotdwar to Kedarnath. Private taxis can also be hired from these places. The National Highway from Delhi to Mana (538 km) remains open throughout the year. Kedarnath is also accessible by foot from Gauri Kund, which is connected by state buses to Rishikesh, Dehradun, Kotdwara, and Haridwar. The bus fares vary depending on the season.
Kedarnath is well connected through the road network. Since air and rail connectivity in Uttarakhand is limited, the road network is the best and easily available transport option. You can either drive to Kedarnath or hire a cab/taxi to reach Kedarnath from Delhi or any other nearby cities.

As a result, devotees can now visit Kedarnath through the medium of daily helicopter service to Kedarnath plying at short intervals of time every day. Devotees can book their tickets in advance to avail of the service; many charter companies have resumed the Kedarnath Service. People can visit the Kedarnath temple and return back to Phata on the same day or wish to stay overnight and come back the next day by helicopter.

The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector, and the destroyer.
