As the films of the Fantastic Beasts saga are not having the expected impact, they want to further expand the Harry Potter Universe.
After the eighth Harry Potter film was released, it was thought that there would be no more installments of this magical film saga. But a few years later, Fantastic Animals and where to find them (2016) arrived at the cinemas, which supposedly will have a total of 5 films and that right now they will begin shooting the third. But Warner Bros wants to expand the Universe in other ways.
The film studio is developing multiple live-action projects within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. There aren’t many specifics yet on what they might be, or even how many are in development, but it’s clear that Warner Bros. executives know they have a very popular franchise and fans want more content.
If there is a very interesting story that they could show in movies or even in an HBO Max series, it would be the creation of Hogwarts. The mythical school of Witchcraft and Wizardry that Harry Potter attends.
Many years ago, wizards suffered a very strong rejection of Muggles (people without powers). Therefore, four very powerful wizards decided to found a college in a castle to train young wizards. They were Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. As each had a way of admitting and choosing the students, they decided to create four houses to choose the new talents. Something that can be perfectly seen in the first Harry Potter movie in the hat scene.
They could also reunite the original cast of the Harry Potter movies and make new stories with the older characters. Although for now, it seems that the plans are to look at other times and other different magicians. Since that gives them much more creative freedom.
