Artificial Intelligence and context: What professions will it substitute

We expected artificial intelligence to clean our houses, drive our vehicles, and make important, difficult decisions for us. Instead, it writes poetry and creates works of art. It now appears that artificial intelligence will really steal our jobs. Yes, not the truly exceptional ones we all desire for, like Klimt’s Kiss or Ginsberg’s Howl, but the common ones that 99.95% of the art business relied on to survive every day for a few thousand years up until 2022.

Although it’s still a few years away, don’t worry it will happen soon. It appears that AI can take all the crap jobs as well, or at least we secretly hope so.

So what is it that modern AI technology can and cannot do?

Product managers, product designers, data scientists, and user researchers have all been let go in large numbers.  Including the Director of User Research and positions of a similar kind at the major players.

On the other hand, even my mother is aware of ChatGPT. This is remarkable considering that I once had to educate her on far more commonplace things like email. I vividly recall her frowning expression when she received her first iPad for her birthday and, less than ten years later, became addicted to Netflix on it.

The main steps of AI understanding

It all boils down to how artificial intelligence technology operates. This technology is simply a translator that has two phases: learning and doing. Data scientists spend the entire day monitoring AI that is “in training” in an effort to manage the process. In general, this is when it learns how to accomplish its job since they educate on how not to respond to certain inquiries.

As a result, ChatGPT has extensive knowledge of how the world functions in general. It’s understanding of how particular their user’s environment is roughly the intricacy of a profile / personal settings page. That’s good for us potential workers who are human (and would-be contractors).

Risk to context-free employment

Recall the query I asked. If you were able to become productive as a junior or middle-level employee. In a short period of time, it is likely because your job didn’t require many contexts to remember. It is simply a matter of how you were trained. Maybe you even only received one or two days of training, such as how to operate a register.

You are the human face for an otherwise impersonal service. Therefore becoming a waiter, waitress, or Apple Store Genius is not dangerous. Becoming a trainee in marketing? But there’s an issue with that.

Users notice, most workshop and junior programmers are in danger. Especially if they can be completed remotely using a computer. This is because they are tasks you can complete with little context since you don’t have any yet. After a while, a bot will reply to the Slack thread instead of you and construct the marketing email or tagline you came up with when you were younger.
