Cobra Kai has adapted the exact same mentality as the dojo it is called after and, quite literally, won’t die. (Which is great news for the show’s biggest fans, such as Ree Drummond!) Ahead of Cobra Kai’s season 3 release, Netflix has confirmed that season 4 is already on its way–and it is likely to be extreme.

When will “Cobra Kai” season 4 be released?

While an official premiere date hasn’t yet been revealed, we’ve got a fairly good idea about when season 4 will arrive on Netflix. Given that season 3 has been released on January 1, 2021, it’d make sense for season 4 to come out about a year then.

The series co-creator Jon Hurwitz also verified that creation is expected to begin in early 2021, based on “how things are looking after the New Year”

Before, the show had a spring launch schedule–but it seems likely that future seasons will continue to fall in winter. Thus, Cobra Kai buffs can *hopefully* expect to see season 4 sometime in January 2022. (That gives everyone a lot of time to rewatch the first few seasons and all of the Karate Kid movies!)

Is the original “Cobra Kai” cast coming back?

It’s hard to say because we still don’t understand what season 3 of Cobra Kai will release. Any number of things–split-ups, job changes, or even death–could shake up the cast. (We hope there are no deaths.)

That said, the series is likely to hang on to both chief characters: Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). We will probably also see more of Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser), Daniel’s wife, Amanda (Courtney Henggeler), and Johnny’s son, Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan).

We do know one personality who likely will not be returning to the dojo: Aisha (Nichole Brown). The actress who plays with the Cobra Kai pupil announced that the news on Instagram this past year, writing that she’s”formally NOT in year 3 #CobraKai.” Still, there’s a chance Aisha can make a comeback during season 4.

“Just because a character does not appear for a time period does not mean they’ve abandoned the world, that they can not return again,” Jon told TV Line about Aisha’s exit. “We love that character, and perhaps we’ll see her again one day.”

When we had to pick an additional personality who may not appear in year 4, it would be Sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove). He is sure to be a huge part of season 3–but we have a feeling that Johnny could put a stop to his wicked reign shortly. That’s only a guess, however!

What will season 4 of “Cobra Kai” be about?

Our guess is as good as yours! Until we observe season 3, we can not predict what’s going to happen in season 4. (Except, ya know, likely more karate.)

But we do know 1 thing: Season 3 will end with another significant cliffhanger. Jon tweeted a teaser about the finale and, although we thought it was impossible to top the brawl in the end of year two, it sounds like the show just may outdo itself.

“I cannot wait for one to see the Cobra Kai Season 3 finale,” he wrote. “However, I especially can’t wait for one to observe the last 90 seconds. People are gont go nuts. I know I do every time.”
