The Boys became a hit for Amazon when its next season release on the Prime Video stage in the summer of our discontent (a.k.a. summer 2020). The R-rated superhero satire from Supernatural founder Eric Kripke still retains the title for most-watched international release from any Amazon original show, it gave Netflix some contest by breaking into Nielsen’s top 10 streaming evaluations graph for the first time, and its prevalence succumbed to a spin-off show to further research this universe of corrupt, out-of-control. So, where does the series go from here? Towards more mayhem, of course.
Having a season 3 order already in the bag, here’s what we can expect next.
Premiere date?
A premiere date is not now known at this time. First things first, the crew and cast need to get through filming. The celebrities are quarantining in Toronto for two weeks in early January before beginning with a full-on production with security measures to contain any possible spread of COVID-19. Many live-action productions have undergone delays in trying to return to work during the pandemic, while some found exactly what you would call success in this new ordinary. Based on the way the schedule proceeds from here will determine whether we’ll see season 3 before the close of the year.
The cast
The Boys — along with the Seven — are all back in town. Meaning Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Jack Quaid (Hughie Campbell), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), and Tomer Capon (Frenchie) will return as the key militia group fighting to keep supes in check with their lady on the interior, Erin Moriarty (Starlight). It also signifies Antony Starr (Homelander), Jessie T. Usher (A-Train), Chace Crawford (The Deep), Dominique McElligott (Queen Maeve), and Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir) — nut allergy be damned — are likewise returning as members of the Seven, the world’s premiere team of superheroes.

Claudia Doumit, who appeared as Congresswoman Victoria Neuman in season 2, will have an expanded role in season 3. Doumit and Colby Minifie, who plays Vought’s frazzled mind of Hero Management, Ashley Barrett, happen to be upped to show regulars.
While it seems Aya Cash’s Stormfront was defeated from the season two finale, losing your limbs doesn’t necessarily mean death these days. Money frees to EW, “I believe they’ve left the door open, but I also feel like there is not much left of her. She’s not technically dead, but I believe that you will only need to find out season 3 to find out what happened to her, [or] if she’s going to be around at all in her younger form.”
Among the cast’s newcomers is Supernatural celebrity Jensen Ackles. Together with the CW drama past its series finale, Ackles moves over to The Boys in the function of Soldier Boy, dubbed the original superhero who was active during World War II. Another Supernatural veteran, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, was presumed to get some kind of function in year 3, but the pandemic is making that seem less and less likely. Actors must quarantine before interacting with the rest of the crew on set.
Kripke confirmed to EW that somebody in the writer’s room” successfully pitched, not an elongated return but a return of Love Sausage in year 3. So, there’s more Love Sausage about the horizon” Actor Andrew Jackson played the super with the super-extendable… ahem… love sausage in season two, episode 6.
We can probably expect other celebrities to look, like Giancarlo Esposito’s head of Vought International, Stan Edgar, and Laila Robbins as Boys creator Grace Mallory, but that is the casting that is supported.
