30 Coins, Álex de la Iglesia’s horror and mystery series, is now available on HBO. From November 29, the platform will make a new episode available to its users every Sunday until its eight installments are completed. The fiction, created together with his inseparable Jorge Guerricaechevarría , takes us into a fantasy world where the devil stalks its protagonists. A fantastic thriller that is scheduled for three seasons and in which they are already working to expand the story.

In an interview with the creators for Sensa Cine, De la Iglesia explained how he thought about the structure of the series. “The episodes are not self-concluding. There is a subplot that gains importance as the chapters progress and that generates a block as a whole that we say is the first act of a superstructure of three seasons.” With his eyes already set on the future, the creator declared that they were already working on a new batch of chapters.

The first episode of 30 coins, now available on HBO, featured Father Vergara, an exorcist exiled by the Vatican who arrives in a small Spanish town. His presence is soon noticed when a child is born from the womb of a cow. This will be the starting point for a series of paranormal phenomena that, in principle, have no explanation. However, nothing is what it seems and no one can be trusted.

Eduard Fernández, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, and Megan Montaner give life to the trio of protagonists who will try to discover what is happening. Thus they are immersed in a global battle for control of the thirty coins for which the apostle Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus of Nazareth. The cast is completed by Macarena Gómez, Pepón Nieto, Manolo Solo, and Carmen Machi.
