The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga could become the first model in the company’s domestic range to feature the new transmission. The car has already been seen doing trials on public roads.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (Maruti Suzuki India Limited) has started the new calendar year with three new launches. Second Generation Celerio (Maruti Celerio) got the CNG variant last month, while the updated Baleno (Baleno) premium hatchback was introduced and the 2022 WagonR (New WagonR) has also been launched. This includes a dual-tone color scheme, new alloy wheels, two petrol engines and other updates. The month of March 2022 is also expected to be a great month for the country’s largest carmaker as the company’s updated Ertiga MPV (Maruti Suzuki Ertiga) is more likely to present.

The 7-seater car has already been spied doing trials on public roads, which reveals the possible changes. It seems that only a minor cosmetic update can be done on the upcoming Ertiga.

What will be special in the updated Ertiga

The best-selling MPV in India may only get new grille inserts and chrome embellishments while projector headlights, bonnet, V-shaped alloy wheels, C-shaped fog lamp housing, tail lamp design inspired by Volvo, front bumper size , tailgate, side body panels, cladding and doors will remain the same as the outgoing model.

On the inside, we can expect only minor updates as new features could be included along with new Surface trims and upholstery. A seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system could be included with the new SmartPlay Studio technology. For performance, the current 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15B petrol engine will most likely be carried over. The powertrain produces around 105 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm. A five-speed manual transmission will be offered as standard, while a four-speed torque converter automatic unit can be offered with the new six-speed torque converter automatic transmission sold globally from Vitara.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga could become the first model in the company’s domestic range to feature the new transmission. It can also be planned for April in the second generation Brezza and the updated XL6 which can be launched by the middle of this year.
