Divya Khosla Kumar is coming with the sequel of her 2014 film ‘Yaariyan’. While she was in the director’s chair in the film that came out nine years ago, ‘Yaariyan 2’ will see Divya acting. The film also stars Meezaan Jaffrey and Pearl V Puri in key roles alongside him. While the film’s teaser, released a few days ago, created excitement among the fans. Its recently released song has embroiled ‘Yaariyan 2’ in controversies. ‘Yaariyan 2’ has come into controversy even before its release. The film has been accused of hurting religious sentiments, to which the makers have also reacted.

The film, which is going to be released on October 20, has come into controversy even before it hit the theatres. The makers recently released its first song titled ‘Saurey Ghar’. But, the Sikh organization Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) objected >> to some scenes of the song. He said that in some scenes, the Sikh Kakkar Kirpan (a symbol of the Sikh faith) has been used by the actor in an objectionable manner.
SGPC tweeted about this on their Twitter and requested government officials to look into the matter and remove the song from YouTube and other streaming platforms, or else legal action for hurting religious sentiments Will. SGPC wrote, ‘We take strong objection to these scenes shot in the song Saurey Ghar in the movie Yaariyan 2 directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, as the actor is seen wearing Sikh Kakar Kirpan in an objectionable manner, which is not accepted. It has seriously hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community across the world.
Soon after SGPC’s tweet, ‘Yaariyan 2’ directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru issued a statement. And said that Meezaan was wearing a khukri – not a kirpan. Sharing the statement on Twitter, it is written, ‘We would like to clarify that in the song the actor is wearing a khukri and not a kirpan. In fact, the dialogue of the film clearly makes it clear that it is Khukri. We apologize for any misunderstanding caused by the similarity in appearance. Our intention has never been to hurt or disrespect any religious belief.
