XXXTentacion’s Killers are Sentenced to Life in Prison

Star rapper XXXTentacion was shot dead outside a South Florida motorcycle store in 2018. As well as was robbed of $50,000. Four men were accused of the crime out of which three men were sentenced to life in prison on Thursday. Last month, a jury found Trayvon Newsome, 24, Michael Boatwright, 28, Dedrick Williams, 26, and Michael Boatwright, 28, guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery.

The only punishment that Broward County Circuit Judge Michael Usan could impose. The first-degree murder conviction was life in prison. Since the prosecution had not requested the death penalty.

Prosecutors used extensive surveillance footage from both inside and outside of Riva Motorsports. As well as cellphone videos that the men recorded of themselves flashing fistfuls of $100 bills hours after the murder.  All the videos during the month-long trial linked Boatwright, Williams, and Newsome to June 18, 2018, shooting.

A fourth guy, Robert Allen, a former acquaintance of the defendants, who claimed to have taken part in the heist, provided testimony for the prosecution as well. To second-degree murder, he entered a guilty plea last year. Until the other three defendants’ trials were finished, his punishment was suspended. Depending in part on how much weight prosecutors attach to his cooperation.  Allen’s sentence may be as short as time served, which would imply that he would soon be released, or as long as life.

Allen was charged by the defense team as a liar who was driven by his desire to escape a life sentence. Additionally, they claimed that the investigation was poorly handled by the prosecution and police. Who failed to check into other potential suspects including Canadian rapper Drake, with whom XXXTentacion had an online fight.

Attack on XXXTentacion

XXXTentacion’s real name is Jahseh Onfroy, he had just left Riva Motorsports. When an SUV backed up in front of him, blocking his BMW.

In the video, two masked attackers can be seen approaching the 20-year-old singer through the driver’s window.  One of them began shooting him repeatedly.

They then picked up a Louis Vuitton bag that XXXTentacion had just brought out of the bank. Which was stuffed full of cash before hopping in the SUV. The rapper’s friend was uninjured.

Boatwright was accused of being the primary shooter, and Newsome was of being the secondary shooter. Williams was accused of driving the SUV, while Allen was accused of being inside.
