Shadow and Bone is going to be the Largest Netflix Series of the spring. The fantasy show based on the Grishaverse book series by Leigh Bardugo is arriving on Netflix on April 23, 2021.
With a big fanbase, amazing story, and place in such an interesting world, Shadow and Bone is put up for big success on Netflix. I will not be shocked if this is the biggest new Netflix series of the year.
Since there’s a lot of stories to dive into, lovers are already wondering whether Shadow and Bone season 2 is happening at Netflix.
We’ve got a much better idea about what Netflix is planning for the near future of Shadow and Bone.

Is There Going To Be A Season 2 Of Shadow And Bone?
It sounds like it! Shadow and Bone is already renewed for season 2 at Netflix.
The streaming system hasn’t confirmed the renewal information and likely won’t until after the very first season premieres. Netflix usually waits to announce big information like this to the fanbase after gathering all of the information on the first season.
Overall, this is really good news for Shadow and Bone fans, who can breathe a little easier knowing Netflix is spent in the series. And, I mean, it was fairly clear this was necessarily the plan for Shadow and Bone. Netflix was not likely to cram six books (and more on the way!) Of story into an eight-episode season.
In addition to that, Netflix was never likely to invest millions into this story, this world, and then bail after one-year-old. Of all the new Netflix shows, Shadow and Bone seemed like the biggest slam dunk for a Season 2 renewal.
So, yeah, this is reasonable. I can’t see a scenario where Netflix would depart this series hanging when there is so much possibility of this fantasy drama.
When Is Shadow And Bone Season 2 Coming Out?
This, to me, is the far better question: When’s Shadow and Bone season 2 coming out?
When production is slated to begin on season 2. As far as we know, production on Shadow and Bone season 2 has not started. If that is true, we are in for a long wait until Shadow and Bone season 2 hits Netflix.
This series is such a large production. It is filmed in and around Budapest, Hungary, and there are still a pandemic slowing the production of TV and films.
So, if Shadow and Bone season 2 isn’t already in the works, it’s going to be at least 2022 until we see that the new year.
I am guessing it will be late 2022 or ancient 2023 before we’d see the next season Netflix. Shows such as this normally have a much larger gap between seasons compared to other Netflix dramas. The Last Kingdom, The Umbrella Academy, The Witcher, and many others generally need about 18 months between seasons. I’d envision Shadow and Bone will take about that long too.
If that’s the case, we can see Shadow and Bone season 2 on Netflix in October, November or December of 2022.
