Is Vicky Kaushal-Sara Ali Khan’s The Immortal Ashwatthama really being shelved?
Recently this year the public announcement and unveiling of The Immortal Ashwatthama’s poster was done. In a piece of recent news, it was reported that the film Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan are all set to star, has been shelved because of the budget issue. Earlier it was believed that the film has cost a huge financial cost of 30 crores. The makers have been preparing for the film and it has been two years already. The entire team has worked hard for the making of this film. They remade the entire pre-visualization, they went for multiple meetings with the VFX team. The team even got an international action unit, for the sole purpose of training Sara and Vicky for the last year.
The producer of the film Ronnie Screwvala spent over Rs. 30 crore to get everything in the place but their entire budget has been shaken already. Ronnie said that he realized that the final budget of the film was way out of the actual budget intended and out of control. A certain amount of budget was made for the film. But after the pre-production started he saw that the budget increased more and more only. He realised that it would only cost them much in the span of time and even after covid the film won’t be able to recover form all the loss. So he called for a meeting with all the team members and cast and took the tough decision of calling off this film.
