Various project Inaugurated By PM Modi In Tamil Nadu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed to the Army, the Arjun Main Battle Tank (MK-1A), laid the foundation stone of several welfare projects in Tamil Nadu. He opened the way to a series of projects which also include Chennai Metro Rails. “These projects are symbols of innovation and indigenous development. These projects will further the growth of Tamil Nadu.”, says PM Modi on the occasion. After the laying of the six hundred and thirty-six kilometers long Grand Anicut Canal System, Modi said that it would benefit both Thanjavur and Pudukkottai. Further, he says, “improve irrigation facilities for 2.27 lakh acres of land,”. He also laid the foundation stone for different projects worth Rs 12,400cr in Coimbatore.

In February 2021, PM Modi inaugurated the projects in Assam worth over Rs 3000 crores.

PM Modi laid the foundation of and inaugurated several developmental projects in Tamil Nadu:

709 MW SOLAR POWER PROJECT OF NLCIL:- this project is established across the districts of Ramanathapuram, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, and Virudhunagar at the cost of 3000 crore, which covers the area of 2670 acres of land. “The 709 MW solar power project was developed indigenously and the cost of this project is over Rs 3,000 crore. Another 1,000 MW thermal power project constructed at Rs 7,800 crore will be hugely beneficial to Tamil Nadu and its neighboring States,”, says PM Modi, further adding a verse from Thirukkural which is translated as ‘farmers lead the way and the rest follow them’.

FOUNDATION STONE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ICCC:- Madurai, Coimbatore, Vellore, Thanjavur, Salem, Tiruppur, Tiruchirappalli, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, are the nine cities where the foundation stone has been laid for Integrated Command and Control centers, which would cost over 107 crores. It will be helping in rendering quicker services for incorporating government aids, and quick decision making.

RENOVATION, EXTENSION, AND MODERNIZATION OF LOWER BHAVANI PROJECT SYSTEM IN TAMIL NADU:- the major objective behind this project is to make the functioning of irrigation systems and canals, more efficient and smooth. 176 drainages, 824 sluices, and 32 bridges will also be reconstructed and repaired under this project.

NEYVELI NEW THERMAL POWER PROJECT:- This power plant has been planned to be set up, which will be having a generation capacity of 1000 MW. This power plant will utilize the mines of Neyveli, which has sufficient reserves of Ignite to meet the lifetime requirement for the project. This power plant costs over 8000 crores. With Tamil Nadu getting the major benefit of 65% share, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry, and Telangana will also be benefitted from the power generated from the plant.

INAUGURATION OF BRIDGES AT V.O CHIDAMBARANAR PORT:- 8-lane of Rail Over Bridge and Korampallam Bridge at one of the major ports of India, V.O. Chidambaranar Port. Also, 5MW ground-based solar power plant will be installed at the port by PM Modi.

Not only in Tamil Nadu but also, in the Union Territory of Puducherry, several projects are launched in the sectors of health, education, sports, and marine, by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While addressing the public he said, “The wind of change is palpable in Puducherry and the new government here will be the people’s government,”.
