The short film “The Storyteller,” starring Paresh Rawal and Adil Hussain and based on Satyajit Ray’s “Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro,” is scheduled to open the London Indian Film Festival at BFI Southbank in London. As an Indian entry, the film has previously participated in prestigious film festivals like the Busan Film Festival. Kerala International Film Festival and India International Film Festival.
The director expressed his delight at the success of “The Storyteller” in Busan. On the occasion of Satyajit Ray’s centennial, Palm Springs, IFFI, and IFFK have emerged as a fitting tribute.
“It is a matter of pride and satisfaction that London Indian Film Festival, Europe’s largest indie festival has given it the status of opening film,” Ananth Mahadevan continued. The Storyteller, also based on a Ray original story, recalls an era of pure cinema and demonstrates the master’s subtle touch. “The Storyteller” will also serve as the festival’s opening act on June 22.
