The Queen’s Gambit Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot And Every Latest Update Here !!!

Given how critically lauded Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit was upon its release this past year, it’s not surprising that the Limited Series has gone on to get quite a few awards, with star Anya Taylor-Joy recently adding a Best Actress Critics Choice award to her Golden Globe win.

And excitingly for lovers, upon receiving the award Taylor-Joy hinted at the possibility that another season might still be on the cards at some stage — despite it previously seemingly been all but ruled out.

Netflix readers become obsessed with the series when it aired a year — with chessboard sales seeing huge international increases — and so fans are desperate to know if more episodes may be in the offing, even though the drama has been charged as a Limited Series and has been based on a publication by Walter Tevis to which there isn’t any sequel.

Read on for everything you need to know about the possibility of Another season of The Queen’s Gambit.

When will season 2 of The Queen’s Gambit air?

There is no announcement yet of a second season. It was a long road to get just one season from idea to some headlining Netflix series. Netflix didn’t even exist if co-creator Alan Scott first attached himself to the project, initially hoping to make a feature film. The series’ executive producer William Horberg weighed in on the question of another season with Deadline, saying, “It’s fantastic to know that people loved the show where they want to spend more time with those figures; we never envisioned it like that.”

He added, “We felt the show had a satisfying endpoint and we would enable the viewer to fill in space regarding what happens next for Beth Harmon. Nothing has changed, despite fans demanding more on my Twitter feed. [Manager and co-creator] Scott and I feel happy about the completeness of Beth’s story.” Still, it would not be the first time that a book adaptation charged as a miniseries got an unplanned next season, only consider HBO’s Big Little Lies. But it’s easy to say another season will not occur in 2021, but 2022 is potential.

The cast would consider returning for more.

Lady Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays Beth, told Town & Country who”I love the character, and I’d certainly come back if I had been asked to.” Nevertheless, she believes the character was abandoned in a triumphant location, and she’s content to leave it at that.

But she’s far from the only cast member keeping an eye open in case the showrunners telephone them back to place. Harry Melling, who plays Harry Beltik, told Town & Country he, also, is curious. “It would be good, right, a Queen’s Gambit part two?” He said. “The place we finish from the limited series is the place we finish in the publication. I don’t know if there may be another one, but stranger things have occurred.”

What will season 2 of The Queen’s Gambit be about?

Since The Queen’s Gambit was adapted from a single novel, there’s no more source material to work with. Any second season would need to be written but also has the liberty to go in whatever way the founders choose. The question remains to be answered: What happens once Beth has struck that profession high? She is on the top now, having achieved what was her target for so long, but that only invites more change for her life.

Taylor-Joy proposed one route for a future story when talking to Deadline, stating, “It would be quite interesting to see how Beth would function as a mom, now that she is sober and more cognizant of the demons that pull her down.” With Beth’s new perspective on her private relationships, a second season could explore her possibly changing priorities and take her back to the cast of characters that rallied around her in her final game.
