The horror drama series ‘The Order’ is created by Dennis Heaton and written by Heaton, Shelley Eriksen, Rachel Langer, Jennica Harper, Penny Gummerson, and Jason Filiatrault. The series initially aired on Netflix on 7th March, 2019 and the second season of the show was available for streaming on 8th June, 2020. The fantasy-filled witchy show received medium reception by the audience with an IMDB rating of 6.8/10 and rotten tomatoes 74% average audience score.

The story revolves around Jack Morton who gets involved in his college Belgrave University’s rival secret society named The Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose and is introduced to the world of dark magic and magicians werewolves, and knights of Saint Christopher.
Later on, in the story, Jack has to deal with his grandfather’s death and he is wanting to avenge his mother’s death. Soon he meets his estranged father and realizes that the Order is led by him. During his course, He also unravels many secrets within his family and the reality of his father. During season 1 jack develops romantic feelings for Alyssa who is a college student and his university tour guide. By the end of Season 1 Jack loses his memory of all the events regarding the Order and in Season 2 looks forward to revive the same.
Unfortunately, In November, 2020 Netflix cancelled the series as the ratings were pretty low and lower than the average audience reception. This news was confirmed by many tweets by the creator of the show Dennis Heaton.
The fans of the show also expressed their dismay via Twitter as there were quite a few rumors about the show’s return. Nevertheless, the show did not have any huge suspense or cliffhanger which was to be continued in the third season, taking it off the air was in the best of interest.
