Kevin Feige assures that the MCU will have many references to the multiverse before and after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
After more than ten years of movies, Marvel Studios gave a great end to its first three phases with Infinity War and Endgame. Some premieres that became film events and that earned Endgame the title of the highest-grossing film in history. Now, the MCU continues and the studio needs great stories that live up to what has already been presented. Marvel could achieve this with the multiverse, which will be officially introduced in the second installment of Doctor Strange. But Kevin Feige anticipates that there will be references before.
The head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, assures in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes that the presence of the multiverses in the MCU will be announced before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Feige assures that, as they are used to doing, the events of the film will be anticipated in previous premieres. In addition, it confirms that the multiverse and its madness will have consequences in the MCU after Doctor Strange 2. At the moment, Kevin Feige does not anticipate in which series or films the first references are presented.
“The title of the next Doctor Strange movie is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So that’s our big clue that this movie will deal with the multiverse and the insanity that is there, very directly. But there are, as we always like to do, connections before and after that. Things that have yet to be seen and discovered. But it feels appropriate that Doctor Strange is in charge of treating him more directly. ”

Although Kevin Feige does not venture to confirm the MCU titles with references to the multiverse, it is not difficult to imagine. Officially, the events of Scarlet Witch and Vision will connect directly with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Additionally, Elizabeth Olsen will play Wanda Maximoff in the sequel to Doctor Strange. So it is more than possible that Scarlet Witch and Vision show the first references to the multiverse of the MCU.
During Disney Investor Day, Feige confirmed that Doctor Strange 2 would also have a connection to Spider-Man 3. During the last months it was confirmed that Sony and Marvel Studios are planning to bring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield back. With which the MCU would be interested in presenting its own Spider-verse. The signing of Jamie Foxx, who repeats as Electro, has already been officially confirmed. The return of Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil are also rumored.
For now, we will have to wait for the premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse and explore the MCU multiverse on a large scale. Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Stephen Strange. He is joined by Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, Xóchitl Gómez as América Chávez, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens in theaters on March 25, 2022.
