Twitch streamer The Grefg broke Twitch’s record for simultaneous viewers during a broadcast to reveal his Fortnite skin. The streamer quickly surpassed the record of 700,000 simultaneous viewers, before setting the record for the most all-time viewers on the platform at more than 2.4 million. It’s a huge number and it shows how big the streamer is and how big Fortnite stays on the streaming platform! The next skin is part of the Fortnite Icon Series, which has previously seen skins based on streamers like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. At the time of writing, Epic Games has not announced a release date or price for the The Grefg-based skin.
The Grefg’s record of 2.4 million viewers beats ELEAGUE with 1.1 million and PlayStation with 1 million. Given the number of people tuned in to the broadcast, it will be interesting to see how popular the mask becomes. While The Grefg is not a household name in America, the streamer has a huge following around the world. As such, it stands to reason that this skin will become a common site in Fortnite matches after its release
