We can breathe easy now. Netflix has announced that The Bridgertons will have season 2 and we already know some details about the new episodes. The good news? It will be an opportunity to investigate Anthony’s history. The bad? It seems that the pair of Daphne and Simon is going to be a little side. In any case, we will continue within the universe created by Chris Van Dusen and we love that.

In an interview with TVLine , Van Dusen has noted that the new batch of episodes will focus on the oldest of the Bridgertons, Anthony ( Jonathan Bailey ). Something that was already expected, since the fiction produced by Shonda Rhimes is an adaptation of the novels of Julia Quinn , a literary saga that tells the story of a different member of the family in each book.

So what can we expect from season 2 of The Bridgertons ? The creator anticipates that “a handful of new characters” will be incorporated and, of course, Anthony will have new “love interests” . We will see how the character enters the world of marriage, so we may see a succession of suitors. Van Dusen is confident that this new love story will be as “sweeping, moving and beautiful” as the one that Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page have starred as Daphne and Simon in the first episodes.

Speaking of the couple of the year, the creator hints that they will leave their prominence behind. Although he neither confirms nor denies it, he “hopes” that they can return in the second installment. “Now they are Duke and Duchess, but in my head they will always be Bridgerton, and I think they will always be part of the series . ” This smells like they will be secondary.
