The 100 season, episode 8, “Anaconda” was a flashback episode preparing the story of this proposed prequel, taking place 97 decades before the episode of season 1, where Cadogan, the creator of this cult Second Morning, escaped to his bunker with his loved ones. After an eventful hour which included showing the grounders’ origins along with the story behind Becca’s premature departure, “Anaconda” concluded with Cadogan’s daughter, Callie, leaving the bunker with the Flame and 2,000 samples of Nightblood, thereby laying the base for those grounders and their various cultures. It’s believed that The 100 prequel series, which currently remains untitled, would last at which”Anaconda” left off, with Callie on the outside hoping to rescue the human race while her brother, Reese, chases after her.
The installation was established and the main players are cast, so the only remaining hurdle is The CW giving The 100 prequel that the greenlight. Based on The 100 series creator Jason Rothenberg, the system has not made a decision yet, but it’s still being actively discussed. Amidst the ongoing pandemic and also The CW’s slate being shuffled – using new shows being added to the docket as big hitters like Supergirl and Supernatural come to a finish – the system is taking its time in determining the right course of action.
