In the United States of America, it premiered on FX on 10 January 2017. Steven Knight, Chips Hardy, and Tom Hardy are the creators of the show. The show is written by Tom Hardy and his father. Kristoffer Nyholm and Anders Engstrom are the directors of Taboo. Max Richter is the music composer of the series.
Taboo Season 1 has 8 episodes in total. It has been 4 years since the show was first released. This thrilling mystery drama features the adventurer James Keziah Delaney. He returns to London during the War in 1812. He comes back to rebuild his late father’s shipping empire. However, James finds out that the government and his biggest competitor are after the empire. Both of them can go to any lengths to inherit the empire. The series explores London in the 19th century- Corruption, gangs, political disruption, increasing income inequalities, and misery of the working class.
Tom Hardy is the lead actor in the TV show Taboo. He played the character of James Keziah Delaney, the son of Horace Delaney. He has also played prominent roles in Venom and Peaky Blinders. The series features Leo Bill as Benjamin Wilton, who is the records officer at the East India Company.

Season 2: Plot Details, Release Date & Updates
The good news for the fandom of the Taboo series is finally here. After a long wait of 4 years and unprecedented circumstances surrounding Covid-19, the Season 2 release date is finally announced. Tom Hardy and Steven Knight also had a really busy schedule. Both of them have been occupied in other projects.
The release date of the Taboo Season 2 is 24th September 2021. Taboo Season 1 ended when Zilpha ended his life just before meeting James. James and his gang set sail to America to fight for their survival. Taboo Season 2 will also see 8 episodes just like Season 1.
In an interview, Steven revealed a few details about the plot of Taboo Season 2. He mentioned that Narcotic plays a major role in Season 2. Well, right now we don’t have many details about what Season 2 holds for the viewers. Nut, one thing we are sure of is that it is going to be more interesting than the previous Taboo Season 1.
