The wait for Stranger Things season 4 feels endless. But there is light at the end of this Upside Down — the show is now filming. And young star Finn Wolfhard recently said that Stranger Things season 4 is”the darkest season there has ever been.”
Stranger Things season 4 will occur (in part) far from Hawkins, Indiana. And leaked set photos have shown that new cast members are coming on board. So, what changes are in store for Eleven, Dustin, Will, Steve, and the rest of the people who lived last year’s mall massacre?
If you are like us and completed Stranger Things 3 in less time than it takes to hang your holiday lights, then we are imagining you too are on the lookout for advice. Here’s everything that’s been verified, a couple of rumors and concepts, and what we wish to know about the next adventures of the best children on Netflix.
well. But let us look at what’s possible.
Considering previous seasons’ release dates — Season 1 came out on July 15, 2016, the second season arrived on October 27, 2017, and the next year dropped on July 4, 2019 — we see a gap of one or two years per season. Not a lot to go on.
From the Before Times, we believed Stranger Things season 4 could arrive on Netflix as early as October 2020. But then production grounded to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have to imagine the Stranger Things season 4 trailer is coming soon, but not soon. If not the full trailer, we should see a teaser for the new season within the forthcoming months.
Production was going strong since January 2021, and the cast and crew officially got back to it in the autumn of 2020. Though things are moving much slower than normal with the security protocols, there needs to be sufficient footage to cut into an epic trailer now, right? I would assume so.
The kicker is that we’re not anywhere close to the Stranger Things season 4 release date. In the beginning, Stranger Things season 4 is coming in late 2021. At worst, it is likely to be 2022 until we see the new year. There’s no hurry for Netflix to push the trailer Stranger Things season 4 before there is a far clearer image about when Stranger Things season 4 will be released.
Amid the outbreak, creation could still be delayed, and so, everything is in flux at this point.
We heard the Stranger Things season 3 launch date on Jan. 1, 2019. The third-year was released on July 4, 2019. But, we didn’t find the full trailer for Stranger Things season 3 until March 2019, which was just a few months before the season premiered.
Unfortunately, we’ll probably have to wait till a few months before the new season before we see the entire preview for Stranger Things season 4. At the earliest, that is going to be in late 2021.
We are going to get teasers until afterward, however. We are already seeing some interesting promotional things happening with that Yuri voicemail teaser. This will probably keep happening throughout the year.
Season three watched multiple casualties, including Billy (Dacre Montgomery), thus we’re 99 percent sure he won’t be arriving in the upcoming series (unless he gets the flashback therapy ).
We must expect to see the Majority of the Primary cast back for now, including Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven, Finn Wolfhard’s Mike, Winona Ryder’s Joyce, Noah Schnapp’s Will, Caleb Mclaughlin’s Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo’s Dustin, Natalia Dyer’s Nancy, Charlie Heaton’s Jonathan, Maya Hawke’s Robin and Joe Keery’s Steve.
Priah Ferguson, who plays Lucas’s sister Eric (of”you can’t describe America without Erica” fame) has been promoted to series regular for the season, as has Fleabag star Brett Gelman who plays bizarre private investigator Murray Bauman.
In November, Netflix published a collection of behind-the-scenes images from the set, including regulars Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Sadie Sink (Max), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), and Joe Keery (Steve Harrington).
In November, Netflix officially declared a whole plethora of new faces for the new show, with three new series regular cast members linking as well as some big-name recurring celebrities.
The newest regulars include Booksmart celebrity, Eduardo Franco, as Argyle, who’s called”Jonathan’s new best friend, a fun-loving stoner who currently delivers tasty pizza for Surfer Boy Pizza” and Sweeney Todd star Jamie Campbell Bower as Peter Ballard –“a caring guy who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital”
They’re combined by Catherine the Great’s Joseph Quinn who plays Eddie Munson,” an audacious 80’s metalhead who runs The Hellfire Club, Hawkins High’s official D&D club” along with Bosch star Mason Due who plays handsome pupil Jason Carver.
One of those to play recurring characters is none other than Freddy Kreuger himself, Robert Englund — and it looks like he may be inspiring just as many accusations in Stranger Things, with his character Victor Creel described as”a disturbed and intimidating guy who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a grisly murder in the 1950s.”
The other new recurring celebrities include Tom Wlaschiha (best known as Jaqen H’ghar at Game of Thrones) as a Russian prison guard who befriends Hopper, Sherman Augustus (Westworld) as a smart, no-nonsense guy who believes he knows how to stop the wicked in Hawkins and Nikola Djuricko (Genius) as a seedy and erratic Russian smuggler who enjoys bad jokes, cold hard cash, along with crunchy style peanut butter.
Meanwhile, eagle-eyed lovers have seen a couple of new cast members on set — such as Levon Thurman Hawke, the younger brother of Maya Hawke (Robin).
Even though Netflix declined to comment on the rumors, Thurman was spotted on-set with Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) in October.
Also joining the cast is Agents of SHIELD star Joel Stoffer, who has been cast in a currently-secret function, together with the celebrity telling Comicbook.com: “I’ve got a role we have not shot on Stranger Things.”
