Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi team up in the double XL trailer

In a double XL trailer, Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi are cast as two plus-sized women out to challenge the social norms for women.

The official trailer for the impending comedy Double XL featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi was unveiled on Wednesday evening. The movie offers a humorous perspective on two plus-sized women who must contend with societal perceptions of their weight and bodies. “A story of friendship and dreams filled with Masti,” is how the movie is characterized.

In the video, two plus-sized women discuss their experiences with body shaming and how their friendship has helped them to overcome these psychological barriers. The video opens with a scene of a fancy gala as dapper Shikhar Dhawan approaches Hum wearing a pink gown, and asks her to dance in the trailer. But soon after being rudely awakened by her irate mother, she realizes it was all just a dream.

The young woman from a small town is told that she is probably “too healthy” to pursue her dream of moving to Delhi to work as a sports presenter. On the other end, Sonakshi a fashion designer came to know that her boyfriend is cheating on her. At this point in their lives, the two cross paths while they are both sobbing in a restroom.

The two then decide to act independently and move to London to defy the world’s definition of what is “normal” for people. Fans responded favorably to the trailer, with many praising the chemistry between the two leads. The film also casts a very known cricket personality, Shikhar Dhawan. This is proved to be acting and makes cameo appearances alongside Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra.

The first look of the movie in which Shikhar and Huma appeared in a picture has quite a buzz among the fans. They are excited to see the duo on television. In an interview, Sonakshi and Huma stated that both of them have to gain weight for the film. They probably gained 15 to 20 kgs of weight for the movie.  The movie is planned to release on the 14th of October.
