Shikha Kalsi : The Writer/Actress making a difference with her heart warming stories

Belonging from the scintillating city of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, Shikha Kalsi has been a dreamer and believer since childhood. Fond of acting, Shikha found her knack for theatre in her teenage and has showcased her theatrical skills in various plays since then.

Having worked as a cabin crew for two notable airlines in India, Shikha has also been on the position of a probationary officer for a national bank, but the theatre enthusiast in her knew that these jobs were not her calling and that she was born to narrate stories.

The believer in Shikha took a plunge and began the journey to do what her heart desires best in the dream city, Mumbai. Throughout the course of this journey, Shikha has been satiating her desire to tell stories by writing a novel, which is scheduled to be released soon.

Avowing to let her words spread across screens, Shikha began her stint as an actor, her innocence has been showcased in short films such as Goonj, a Pocket Films production which is available on YouTube and a masterpiece that opened new horizons for the young lady. Her self written emotive play, ‘The Female Child’, has been presented multiple times in Mumbai and have always left the audience overwhelmed with a mix of emotions.

The writer/actor has done many roles and she takes pride in her capacities of a producer, writer and actor, talking about her films, Shikha says,”Since childhood, I found theatre and acting to be very liberating for me, it was a medium for me to connect my soul with the world, growing up I dreamt of being in this profession, but somehow, I was pulled with responsibilities, following which, I worked at some jobs while writing stories that I felt should be told, today I am glad that I am living my dreams and I believe this is just the start of phenomenal projects”.

“I have always been someone who’s subjects revolve around the female population of our country, their struggles, their aspirations and beliefs, that is evident in all the stories I have written and acted in, I have been fortunate that my work has been able to impact people, with such inspiration coming from my audience’s, I am certain I want to take this streak forward with my upcoming releases’, adds Shikha.

Shikha is set to present another masterpiece called ‘Fairy’, a moving short film which has been written by the prolific writer herself. The cherry on the cake lies in the fact that Shikha can also be seen playing the lead role in the film, which will certainly magnify the scope of the depth of her character and will be a treat for the audiences.
