Biography
Shakti Mohan is an Indian dancer who has also appeared in several television shows as a contestant and mentor. She is famous for mentoring the dance reality show Dance Plus (Season 1-4). Shakti started her journey with season 2 of Dance India Dance in the year 2009-10. She has further made an appearance in various films, television shows, and music videos.
Birth & Family
Shakti Mohan was born on 12th October 1985 in Delhi, India. She aspired to become an IAS officer before entering dancing. Her father’s name is Brijmohan Sharma and her mother’s name is Kusum Mohan. She has talented three sisters, Mukti Mohan, Neeti Mohan, and Kriti Mohan who are equally involved in dancing and playback singing. She moved to Mumbai from Delhi in the year 2006
Early life
Shakti Mohan was born to Kusum Mohan and Brijmohan Sharma. Shakti Mohan is originally from Delhi. She was aspiring to become an IAS officer before her appearance on Dance India Dance (DID). A trained contemporary artist, she graduated with a diploma in dance from Terence Lewis Dance Foundation Scholarship Trust in 2009.
Her first big achievement was winning the second season of DID. In her childhood, Shakti received a serious injury and doctors said that she might not be able to walk again, but with the support of her family, she overcame her injury.

Career
Following her victory in the second season of Dance India Dance, Shakti produced dance-themed calendars for 2012 and 2013. She also appeared in the fictional dance-based teen series Dil Dosti Dance as the main lead character. She was also a contestant and finalist on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2014. Her first song as a choreographer in Bollywood is “Nainowale Ne” in the movie Padmaavat.
She owns her own dance brand called Nritya Shakti. Shakti was also the judge and mentor in the dance competition reality show called Dance Plus for Seasons 1-4. She is the younger sister of the singer Neeti Mohan and the elder sister of the dancer and actress Mukti Mohan. In 2012, she collaborated with the composer Mohammed Fairouz on a BBC-sponsored dance project in New York.
She also produced a dance music video with her sisters. In 2013, Mohan launched a YouTube channel with dance instruction videos. In 2015, Shakti also judged the show Dance Singapore Dance. Shakti has also been a part of a L’Oréal Paris campaign in 2020.
In 2020, Shakti has choreographed a song for Ranbir Kapoor in upcoming film Shamshera directed by Karan Malhotra. The film is set to release in 2021.
