Saikat Sarkar Unveils “Healing Strokes”: A Transformative Series Exploring Emotional Recovery Through Abstract Art

Internationally renowned abstract artist and entrepreneur Mr. Saikat Sarkar is debuting his most intimate body of work to date, “Healing Strokes”, a limited edition 10-piece series of emotionally charged abstract paintings that explore the raw, non-linear journey of human healing.

Scheduled to open on August 15, 2025, in Hyderabad, Healing Strokes is a testament to Sarkar’s journey through the psychological and spiritual stages of healing — from grief and fragmentation to clarity and resilience. The series will subsequently tour Delhi, Mumbai, London, and Dubai for private, exclusive showings.

These are not paintings,” says Sarkar. “They are pieces of feeling, built up over time, filtered through silence, and expressed through colour. Healing Strokes is my way of trying to turn pain into presence.”

A Continuation of an Emotional Language

The Healing Strokes series emerges as a spiritual follow-up to Sarkar’s recently unveiled work, A Man in Illusion — an eerie, large-format abstract mixed-media painting now valued at INR 5.5 crore. In it, Sarkar delves into the devastating emotional breakdown of a man left in the lurch at his greatest moment of crisis.

Evoking the motifs of loss, betrayal, illusion, and the fragility of memory, A Man in Illusion records the splintering of self and the residual pain of love lost. Its blue-green oceanic tones, broken green fields, and dissonant yellow ruptures mimic the inner shriek of a shattered heart — a reflection into the emotional wreckage Sarkar is now attempting to rebuild through Healing Strokes.

Abstract Expressionism with Psychological Depth

Unlike traditional abstraction, Sarkar’s paintings don’t merely seek to derail form; they elicit feelings. His distinctive style combines forceful brushwork, uncertain spatial arrangements, and heightened-emotion colour theory. No literal forms, no charted stories exist. His canvas is transformed into an emotional geography, with turbulence, silence, resistance, and release all competing for space.

  1. Blues call up the pain of sorrow and subconsciousness.
  2. Greens float as unsteady spectres of healing — soiled, doubtful.
  3. Yellows intrude like unwanted recollections — piercing but necessary.

Sarkar extends this vocabulary in Healing Strokes. While A Man in Illusion suspended the viewer in an atmosphere of psychological stasis, Healing Strokes encourages movement, still open to interpretation, still susceptible, but now characterized by movement forward.

From Entrepreneur to Abstract Visionary

Mr. Saikat Sarkar’s path to becoming an artist is non-traditional. He was an extremely successful businessman before he got into modern art, and he brought the same zeal to the profession.  Collectors in New York, Berlin, London, and Tokyo are greatly moved by his visual language, which is based on his experiences of loss, loneliness, determination, and rebirth.

People throughout the world have both private and public groups of Sarkar’s paintings. He has also appeared in major art journals throughout the world for his honest emotional honesty and experimental approach. He is a leading figure in Indian contemporary abstraction because he is so good at combining texture, colour, and open-ended emotional issues.

Collectors & Media Access

Private preview and acquisition inquiries for Healing Strokes are now available. As a result of the series’ exclusivity (only 10 one-of-one works), interest among collectors and galleries has already picked up steam. Each purchaser will get:

  1. A hand-autographed original painting
  2. A framed artist’s note
  3. Priority to Sarkar’s next series of work
  4. Invitation to private previews and worldwide showings

Conclusion

In a world that is prone to rushing to silence the pain, Saikat Sarkar decides to paint through it. Healing Strokes isn’t a collection; it’s a movement towards emotional authenticity, strength, and recapturing. In every brush is a truth many fear to utter — and in that silence, Sarkar has discovered the colours to heal.
