Russian Doll was one of the best Netflix shows of 2019, and now, fans are trying to find some information about season 2 about this release date and what the new season will be about.
Netflix has confirmed season 2 of the Netflix first series is happening. The streaming network announced the series starring Natasha Lyonne and Charlie Barnett is coming back for season 2. Since that time, though, we have not learned much about the new season of the sequence.
Release Date
We don’t know the release date for Russian Doll season 2 yet. That is common, though. Netflix generally waits till a month or 2 before the new year before they announced that the release date.
What is uncommon is how little anyone knows about the release date. We can normally predict the release date for Netflix seasons within a few months. There are very little info to go on to make that prediction, but we will try!

The very first year premiered on Netflix in February 2019. Generally, to get a Netflix show like this with only eight episodes in the season and off-the-shelf episodes, we can expect the new season to be released about a year from the premiere date of the previous season.
So, you’ll see many enthusiasts are expecting to see the new year at the start of 2020, and it may be released around that time. I think that is a bit early, and that is why I’m expecting to see season 2 in the spring of 2020, likely around May.
As of July, according to TheWrap, Lyonne mentioned they hadn’t written season 2 yet, so they weren’t starting production any time soon. At the time of releasing, that is about six months ago, so there’s been more than enough time to write and film a short season.
We have not discovered that creation has wrapped in season 2 yet. I couldn’t even affirm that production has begun on season 2.
After production wraps, they will need at least a few months to edit and foster the season. Because we can not affirm anything about production, we are optimistic that we’ll see the brand new season in late spring 2020, but it could even be summer or fall 2020 before we see the new season.

What Happens Next
What happens next is anyone’s guess now!
At the end of the first season, we saw Nadia and Alan finish the time loop and escape, or that is how I took it. Others have different ideas about what may have happened.
It’ll be really interesting to understand how the story progresses. Do they pick new personalities for season 2? Can Alan and Nadia return? Do they get stuck in a different loop?
I believe it’d be great to add new characters. Focusing on new personalities, or some of the additional supporting characters from season 1, might be a very interesting way to start up new possibilities, but I’m nervous that would change the dynamic of this sequence. I liked Alan and Nadia producing advancement and using one another to find out their plight. We have invested a great deal of time in these characters, and it would be sad to see the story move ahead without them.
Assuming Nadia and Alan do reunite, where does the story go? I thought they won at the end of the first season. Is it possible they’re still at the time? Could it happen? I don’t know, and I don’t understand that it is fair to torture these characters again.
The founders have theorized that the story could survive three seasons, meaning they have an idea where this show could go in the future.
I believe that the best-case situation is we get to see Nadia and Alan live life, but we get to see someone else fighting this time loop. Nadia and Alan may even have the ability to assist them through.
