Russian Doll just got yet another exciting casting update for its second season, which is put to air on Netflix.
Sharlto Copley has joined the upcoming episodes the’s possibly best known for playing the leading role of Christian Walker at Powers and Wikus van de Merwe at season 9.
The information was announced on among Netflix’s Twitter reports, studying: “Interesting #RussianDoll News! Sharlto Copley joins previously announced new addition Annie Murphy in Season two!”
Alongside Copley and Murphy, Carolyn Michelle Smith continues to be announced as a new cast member we understand very little about their characters or storylines, as that’s something Netflix has kept well concealed.
Russian Doll’s first time showcased Orange Is The New Black celebrity Natasha Lyonne as the director she also co-created the series together with Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland. The very first show sees Lyonne’s personality, Nadia, die repeatedly at a party in New York because she relives the same night in a continuous-time loop.
Starring alongside Lyonne at Russian Doll is Greta Lee, Yul Vazquez, Elizabeth Ashley, and Charlie Barnett.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Russian Doll star Chloë Sevigny discussed Lyonne’s participation in creating the show, saying: “I’m just so proud of her. Just seeing her produce this show, this character, and seeing her grow as an actor.
“I believe that the moments in Russian Doll in which you see her vulnerable side is not something that people really connect her with.
“Folks always see her as this brash New Yorker who is smoking and [creates ar-ar-ar-ar noise]. Along with the moments where she is vulnerable on the show I was in tears every time I had been watching it. I believe she doesn’t get enough credit for her performance in these moments.”
