Downey Jr, made his debut as an actor at the age of 5  in the film Pound (1970) directed and written by his father Robert Downey Sr. Robert began his career after leaving high school, and in the year 1980s and 1990s he did many soap operas and dramas. He played roles in dramas like Tuff Tuff (1985), Weird Science (1985), True Believer (1989), and Wonder Boys ( 2000).  Not only dramas he also did some of the phenomenal and critically appreciated movies.  But his career took a huge turn when in 2008 he was starred in Iron Man it broke the records and Downey achieve worldwide box office success. In 2009 he was starred in Sherlock Holmes and he was awarded Golden Globe for Best Performance of an Actor in a Motion Picture in January 2010.

Later in the summer of 2010, Robert teamed up again with director Jon Favreau and reprised his role as Tony Stark aka Iron Man. This sequel became one of the most successful sequels.
