Staff: Your fintech company is described as “bridging the gap between payments and technology.” Can you elaborate on what makes it unique?
Richard Zamilpa: Absolutely. Our platform doesn’t just process payments; it offers small and medium-sized businesses the ability to compete with major players. We provide custom mobile apps that integrate online ordering and rewards systems.
Unlike traditional third-party platforms, we eliminate excessive commissions and fees, which means merchants save money. It’s not just about technology; it’s about honest work and empowering businesses to thrive in a digital-first world. I’m fully focused on AI and integration with it on all platforms to transform the fintech space. A lot of exciting things ahead that I can’t disclose yet.
Staff: Awesome! So RZ Consulting, the merchant solutions platform you’re spearheading, has been gaining traction. What’s its mission, and how does it differ from other platforms?
Richard Zamilpa: RZ Consulting’s mission is to democratize access to digital solutions for small businesses. Many platforms charge exorbitant fees or require
technical expertise that smaller businesses just can’t afford. We create custom apps and websites, integrate our own delivery network, and use AI to streamline operations. This isn’t just about convenience—it’s about leveling the playing field and giving every business the tools to compete in a modern digital economy. That is a
major part of what we do, but I help merchants in every step of the way, from brand marketing, seamless integrations, strategies for streamlining efficiencies, to helping merchants to secure loans for growth. Merchants have to ability to leverage my connections and platform to exponentially grow with me.
Staff: Beyond your work in fintech and tech, you’re a recognized fashion influencer on Instagram. How did that come about?
Richard Zamilpa: Fashion has always been a passion of mine. It’s a form of self-expression and a way to connect with people. I’ve had meetings with people
where we connect over my watch. My style is a mix of classic elegance and modern streetwear, and I have an array of brands like Loro Piana, Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, and Chrome hearts I wear regularly. Sharing that on Instagram started as a hobby but grew into something more as people resonated with it. It’s humbling to know my style inspires others, especially in my industry where it’s a lot of older guys in suits.
Staff: Many entrepreneurs struggle to stay authentic while pursuing growth. How do you maintain your authenticity?
Richard Zamilpa: I focus on staying true to my values—integrity, hard work, and relentlessness. Whether it’s in fintech, tech, or fashion, I make decisions based on how they impact others, not just the bottom line. I also surround myself with people who hold me accountable and remind me of why I started this journey. I have to privilege to work with some of the best people, and I want to help them grow and succeed with me.
Staff: Small business empowerment seems to be a recurring theme in your work. Why is this so important to you?
Richard Zamilpa: Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, but they’re often left out of the tech revolution. I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be for
smaller enterprises to compete with larger players. My mission is to bridge that gap by providing affordable, accessible solutions that drive growth. It’s incredibly rewarding to see businesses thrive because of the tools we offer. I always wanted to help the little guy and would always root for the underdog.
Staff: What’s next for you, Richard? Are there new industries or projects you’re exploring?
Richard Zamilpa: Right now, my focus is on scaling the fintech and tech platforms, making them even more accessible globally. We’re also exploring how AI can further enhance small business operations. I’m also focusing on commercial real estate this year. On a personal level, I’m working on expanding my presence in philanthropy—maybe even launching a non-profit to give back to the Las Vegas community. There’s always something on the horizon and I can’t sit still!
Staff: Lastly, what advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who look up to you?
Richard Zamilpa: First, don’t be afraid to take risks. Growth comes from stepping out of your comfort zone. Second, invest in relationships. Your network will often determine your opportunities. You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Learn and push those people and make sure your daily habits reflect the person you are trying to become. And finally, stay adaptable. The world is changing faster than ever, and those who succeed are the ones who can evolve with it. Never stop learning, and always stay true to your values.
